Funny how just a couple of days
ago I was strolling down along Romford Road in Stratford London, a place I
frequently spent my childhood summers. At first I didn’t recognise the street and then that sense of
wistfulness hit me and I remembered the familiarity. The sweet shop I
constantly gathered all my pennies for, the university across the road and of course
the recurring movements of the infamous red buses.
Damn… Time Flies !
I spent this particular day
taking the blog photos’ you see above as well as shopping with my Friends Joy
and Jessy at Westfield Shopping centre, which for me was a welcomed addition to Stratford city.
I ended up buying the Zara bag from my Wishlist Post *Covers Face* and I got these Zara mesh heels I’ve been Obsessing over.
They slightly remind me of Kim Kardashians’s favourite and extremely over worn
SS14 Hermes heels.
I am kind of looking forward to
2015 already, Spring/Summer especially … the freshness of a new year, the upcoming adventures and the new
beginnings awaiting me.
So dolls, I’m keeping this post
short and sweet so i'll leave it at that. Leave a comment below, your comments are always appreciated.
1.Concert Tickets- Concert tickets are always a great gift to
get your significant other. You probably know what artists she’s loved for the
longest time, e.g. Nicki Minaj & Trey Songs or Drake’s European tour (2015)
in the Uk and Ireland. Sometimes going for a more intimate concert is advisable
plus you get to save some money. Check out some of the up and coming artists
she’s been feeling lately. A friend of mine went to see Ed Sheran when he
played Vicar Street in Dublin a few years ago, at the time he was just starting
out and now he sells out multiple nights at the O2. So beat the queue, head over to Ticketmaster and take
her to see that next big star first!
2.Perfume Gift Sets – I think a truly elegant gift to get her is “La Vie Est Belle”, which is French and translates to “life is beautiful”. Every girl likes to
channel her inner Parisian girl and feel like a Pretty woman, Lol See what I
did there?Plus it smells divine so she
will love it. Another great thing about getting gift sets is you save a ton of
money as the perfume is standard price or less but comes with a lot of fun
extras. One thing I know about us girls is we never like to buy our own
expensive perfumes, we like when someone else buys them for us on special……. or
any occasion really *laughs*.
3.Curling Iron- Curling wands are useful tools to quickly
give her look an extra oomph! So head on over to Boots cause at this time of
year they do great deals on curling wands and curling Irons and you could save
up to 50%.Check out the type of curlers
she already owns and go for one with a slightly different curl pattern, from
GHD’s to Babyliss you’ll find the perfect curling Wand to get her.
4.Jewelry & Watch – Jewelry is always a great choice for us ladies…. They do say diamonds
are a girl’s best friend, but if you’re not trying to break the bank then
anything shiny will do. From sparkly earrings to dazzling statement piece
necklaces. I have suggested this Sterling silver Pandora Birth stone Ring,
there’s basically one for every month based on birth month.I own a Pandora charm bracelet I got a few
years ago so I can definitely recommend Pandora as a brand.
5.Bag - A Bag is an awesome gift
for her this Christmas. Who doesn’t want a new bag? River Island and Zara have
some lovely bags in stock at the moment or you can go for the more pricey ones
like Kate Spade, DKNY or this Michael Kors Selma
I have above. The key is to know her style. RESEARCH! Ask yourself does she carry shopper tote bags, satchels,
or duffle bags and then go by what you think will suit her. She will love the
thought you put into choosing it and she’ll be flattered that you know her bag
6.Makeup – Now if she’s a makeup lover, makeup junkie or even a makeup Artiste,
then please kindly find your way to your nearest mac cosmetics counter. Mac eye
shadows are great but pretty pricey when bought individually so I have
suggested the warm pre-made palette as it comes with neutral tones that will
easily enhance every skin tones. She can play around with the colours and use
it all year round and all at a gift worthy price.
7.Portable Charger– Funnily enough my friend Alison gave me this gift idea. Girls love
their phones and also snapchat and we all know snapchat is a battery drainer. A
fantastic and SUPER useful gift Idea is a portable chargerso she can take snap
photos and videos to her heart’s content. Some of these portable chargers come
in pretty cool shapes so are even mirrors so she can use it to fix up her
makeup as well.
8.Trainers – Christmas is the perfect time to get herNike trainers or running
shoes as this is the time when she’s preparing for the famous New Year’s
resolution of absolute healthy eating and fitness. A bit of encouragement with a new pair of Nike trainers will serve as the perfect motivator.
Now those are some suggestions of great presents for Her, but if all else fails and you are
still confused then just buy her a gift
voucher for her favourite store. If you’re a hopeless gift giver chances
are she already knows and will still love you regardless. Gift giving is not
everybody’s forte, it's the thought that counts.
This year has definitely flown through so quickly, it feels like just a couple of days ago I was enjoying my travel filled summer and now SHOCKER !!! It's December already. The cold has recently just arrived but guess what?, its my favourite time of the year, I'm one of those strange people that even though I like to wear less layers during the summer, I love A/W.
What is so great about Autumn and Winter ?
Well besides the obvious festivities that go on during this time of the year, its the perfect opportunity to get away with dressing like a long lost relative of The Addams family, if that's your thing and sometimes it's really my thing. (to a limit of course lol !) I even almost bought a black lipstick in Superdrug yesterday!!
Today's outfit post was actually inspired by two sources, firstly my friend JD who was also my guest photographer for this outfit and secondly from a blogpost I read.
It all started on a casual day at Primark having a nose through the shop-floor and JD points out these boots and says these would suit me.I immediately laughed and dismissed the thought of ever buying them but it was quite random actually, I decided to try them on a joke so I could do a little mirror dance and Voila ! it was love at first Wear!...... I ended up going back to buy them a few days later. A few days Prior to this I had my usual read of my favourite blogs, from Shirley's wardrobe to Nadia Aboulhosnwho's syle im Obsessed with but when i'm done with my favourites I like to read from posts blogger I know and im interested in.
"Take for example knee high boots. Who told you you were Rihanna? If you are short and stumpy, you more than likely will not pull it off."
I partly understand what she was saying !! But is Rhianna the inventor of knee high boots paired with an oversized tee ?,NOPE ! if anything a majority of fashion bloggers are. You don't need me to tell you that everything looks different on a model and on Rihanna than it does in real life. Over-the-knee boots are a biggie. In the typical fashion show, they look effortlessly stunning and easy to pull off, usually paired with a micro mini or a floating dress that's cut up to the thigh. In real life, they're a little trickier to wear — they make a statement, conjure up images of our favourite Pretty Woman and can easily become a train-wreck if it doesn't agree with he rest of your attire. OK, I'll admit: they're challenging; but that doesn't mean they're not worth a try and that they won't actually work with the right pieces, for everybody. Yes, EVERY body type, you just have to find what works for your body type. (check out pintrest,Tumblr for ideas ect!)
I guess what i'm trying to say is Society shouldn't rule out a style of dressing for a particular group of people and dictate to them what's right and wrong ! What shoes they can wear when and what shoes they are "allowed" to wear, based on their height. I guess that statement is for those that care deeply what people think of what they wear. As for me, I love my new Primark Over the knee boots and I cant wait to style them in some of my future posts.
Hi Lovelies, so I wanted to share with you some of the things that has been on my "To Buy” wish list. These are just some essentials to get me and inspire you for autumn winter. I hope you enjoy this post, and I would love to know about any cool things that are on your wish lists also, so don’t be shy when dropping the comments below.
The Coat:I first fell in love with this coat on my 21st birthday trip to Paris but I was strictly forbidden from purchasing it by my best friend & personal style blogger Eunice (Fashion Enthusiast). I actually think I wanted to go on a mad spending spree just because I could but I decided spending €165 on a coat would not be the brightest Idea so I decided to wait until the next 12am Zara.com sale (waiting for the e-mail ;) where hopefully that beauty of a coat will be mine. I'M LEGIT STALKING IT !
The Bag: This Zara bag has been on my wish list for AGES since before I even left Ireland! But Since I knew I was moving to the Uk I knew it would be a bad idea to add to my moving load. I will be picking this bad up in the following weeks and I really can't wait. A friend of mine thinks its funny how I like to carry big bags yet I'm a small person.
The Boots:The Boots: Chelsea boots have a timeless style and come with endearing attitude. I really need a new pair. I brought my old knee high Zara pair with me to the England, although they are getting kind of old and beaten up. So a new quality pair of boots are on my to "buy list". I always buy my boots in Zara because you can get really quality stuff for a decent price.
H&M: £14.99 Hat (Link)// Scarf £7.99 (link)// Scarf (link)// Bag £29.99 (link)// Scarf (link)//Sneakers £19.99 (link)// Loafers £9.99(link)
The Hat: I have a really big head *Laughs*, so I can never find hats that I am in love with that fit just right. I would love to get a nice hat that looks and feels good. I always seem to get all my hats in H&M.... Strangely enough, let's just hope a Size L fits my head and potential future weaves.
The Scarf: This winter, scarves have become a statement accessory in their own right. As soon as New York Fashion Week got under way last season, there was a renewed focus on the scarf -scarfs were styled up as statement pieces and were made to complete signature runway looks.
The Bag: Another amazing H&M find and to me this is the epitome of a STEAL at €39.99 in Paris so I may buy the black one. I'm super impressed with the quality and how it looks super high fashion and sophisticated without breaking the bank. They offer the options of wine (which I own) and grey as well but I opted for black on my wish list since I have it in blue and wine so a nice black one can be very versatile in my wardrobe.
The Sneakers: Sneakers are perfect for my super comfortable styleas they can really dress down a n overly "dressy outfit". This way you can get away with looking dressy casual even when you’re looking extra "Pimping". I want a pair of sneakers I can wear on a casual day to Uni.
The Loafers: I think Loafers speak for themselves…. They are generally comfortable easily slipped on shoes. I just love them really.
Casio - men's Rose gold £28.94 (link) // Michael Kors £275 (link) // Marc Jacobs £275 (link)
Rose gold watches are quite high on my wish list this autumn/winter. I used to be a bit iffy about Rose gold to be sincere, but I have reached a place in my life *laughs* where I think a rose gold watch would be a great addition to my wardrobe.
The Casio watch is one that I am seriously considering, honestly I didn't used to pay much mind to Casio watches but let's just say I have been educated by FORCE! About how cute they really are.
Michael Kors' latest Lexington Chronograph watch is available in a rose gold version apart from the original Standard gold version.
I'm not particularly a huge fan of Marc Jacobs watches, I feel like the frame/face of the watches they produce are far too small but I am considering a Rose Gold watch from them also.... try something new.
Nars lipstick- Heat Wave (link) £19.50 // Bobbi Brown foundation stick -Espresso £29 (link) // They're Real Gel liner £18 (link)
Lipstick: I want to pick up a high-end lipstick and I suppose it's quite shocking that I don't own any actually. I guess I'm just a big o'l Mac girl at heart. I am getting sick of my signature Red lipstick, which is why I haven't worn it in months. I thought it's about time I found a new red lipstick to love.
Bobbi Brown: I want to get the darkest shade of this stick foundation so I can use it as a contour stick. I saw some random other YouTube do it and now I want to give it a try as I’ve always used sleek’s Contour kit, we all know that sleek product is not particularly dark enough for contouring.
They're Real Gel Liner: I recently bought the "They're real mascara" and with it I got a sample size of the gel liner version. I'm extremely excited to pick up a full sized version of this simply because its Amazeballs! “Yay to trials and testers.”
